‘The QLD Sustainable Showcase’, as it is commonly referred to, is located within the Brisbane City Council region and is being developed by EcoNova - The SafeWater Company.

The development consists of 22 residential blocks which will be independent from council water infrastructure. EcoNova provides full water services incorporating rainwater harvesting (treatment to Australian Drinking Water Standards), wastewater treatment to Class A+ water quality and extensive automated irrigation and water reticulation.

The water treatment system will provides Class A+ water to all household lots for toilet flushing, laundry and outdoor use. The system has a working capacity of 20,000L per day. In a household of four persons that equates to 880L per day, 6,160L per week, 320,320L (320.3kL) per year. For the 22 residential blocks that is 7,406.6kL per year.

The residents do not see an increase in water costs and no additional body corporate expenses as a result of having an onsite infrastructure.

The entire subdivision benefits from unlimited recycled water where gardens and lawns are irrigated automatically everyday, whilst the adjacent homes are facing even tighter water restrictions than they are currently on.

With the world class and ground breaking technology from EcoNova, domestic users are given the opportunity to more efficiently access, treat and recycle one of the world's most valuable resources - water.
